Origin: Mexico and southern Texas

Plant Profile

  • Unique, spineless cactus with a flat, round body and distinct ribbed sections—resembles a sand dollar or sea urchin

  • Dotted with tiny white speckles and woolly tufts, giving it a star-like appearance

  • Produces beautiful yellow flowers with orange centers in warm, sunny conditions

  • Very low maintenance and drought-tolerant—great for beginners and collectors

  • Thrives in bright, direct sunlight

  • Requires well-draining cactus soil, allow soil to dry completely between waterings

  • Prefers warm temperatures and low humidity
