Origin: Brazil (tropical rainforest)

Toxicity: Generally non-toxic to humans; may cause mild irritation if ingested

  • Succulent-like cactus with segmented, flat green stems

  • Produces bright, tubular flowers

  • Prefers bright, indirect light

  • Thrives in moderate humidity and temperatures between 60–75°F

  • Grows best in well-draining soil, such as cactus or succulent mix

  • Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil is dry

  • Sensitive to overwatering, which can cause root rot
